Projects
Copper is one of the most common and versatile metals in use around the world. Without copper, our modern society could not exist. Its demand has increased by more than 570,000 metric tons annually over the last few years. Current world demand is at 15 million metric tons yearly. China alone accounts for more than 22% of the world’s copper demand, yet there are very limited natural sources for the metal in China. Buyers from China and other neighboring countries are constantly seeking new sources of copper throughout the Philippines.
We are currently working with our sister-company Higher Metals which is in the pilot-plant stage of its copper mining and electro-refining project in the Philippines and is working to open our refinery with an initial output of 780 metric tons of pure copper per month. We have striven to locate and operate low-cost mines in a responsible manner, both environmentally and socially. We endeavor to be examples of simplicity by operating within our company’s financial means. We continuously strive to earn the trust and confidence of the people within the communities where we operate.
The Caraga region of Mindanao Philippines, the area of our current operation, has the largest copper reserve in the country, with an estimated 1.8 billion metric tons of copper reserves. We are currently the only copper refinery on the entire island of Mindanao. We have also prospected several potential mining areas in the Philippines that are rich in copper, gold, silver, and platinum group metals. We take pride in being one of the top mineral processing companies in the Philippines, leading in innovation and environmentally friendly processing techniques. At the center of our vision, we seek to provide quality jobs for local communities and training opportunities in a safe and healthy work environment. We have developed through expert guidance a strong focus on efficient resource management.
In addition to advancing in the exploration for copper and precious metals, U.S. Halogens seeks to discover deposits of base metals, calcium minerals and other valuable resources.
U.S. Halogens identifies areas of high in metallic mineral deposits. We may continue forward through exploration stages towards discovery, or seek discovery through a third party Exploration Alliance by entering into joint venture agreements.
Higher Metals is also working on a project with U.S. Halogens for recycling and extracting copper and precious metals from industrial waste sourced worldwide.
